Cherise Henry is a freelance writer, editor and journalist, and provides communications consulting services for companies and organizations. She’s passionate about telling meaningful stories and creating authentic content, connecting with people through the written word.
Her published work has appeared in Comstock’s Magazine, Muck Rack, Sacramento Magazine, Edible Sacramento, K-LOVE IMPACT, Granite Bay View, Roseville Press Tribune, Merced Sun-Star, Plan Your Meetings Magazine, Style Magazine and Bonnie, among other publications. She works with clients including Save Our Water, K-LOVE Air1 Media Foundation, The McClatchy Company, Golden Valley Industries, WindFarm Marketing, California Cut Flower Commission, River City Food Bank, Melissa Washington, Inc., Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market and more.
Prior to launching into freelance solopreneurship, Cherise worked at communications agencies providing writing and editing, media relations, public relations, event management and social media services for a wide range of clients including global corporations, nonprofit organizations, public agencies and local businesses. She had a brief stint working as a news assistant at a local broadcast news station.
Cherise earned degrees in journalism and marketing from Sacramento State, and is a certified meeting and event planner. She is a recipient of the State Information Officer Council (SiOC) Stephan Brophy Award for her work in the media industry and is a co-leader of Freelancers Union SPARK: Sacramento.
When she’s not hustling in all things business, you can find Cherise playing chase-the-toddler and snuggle-the-baby, exploring the outdoors or watching her #1 team, the San Francisco Giants. Cherise resides in Folsom, California with her fun-loving husband and two adorable munchkins.
